Shafer Earns First Career CARS LMSC Tour Pole

For the second week in a row, the Solid Rock Carriers CARS LMSC Tour will have a first-time polesitter leading the field to the green flag.

Jonathan Shafer put down a blistering lap of 15.074 to earn the top spot for tonight’s Radley Chevrolet 125. Corey Heim came the closest to knocking Shafer off the pole, but had to settle for second with a 15.110.

Bobby McCarty, who led wire-to-wire in last week’s Cloer Construction 250 at Hickory Motor Speedway, did not get the qualifying run he was looking for and will start tonight’s LMSC…

McCarty, who is the two-time defending champion of the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, passed pole-sitter Mini Tyrrell on the opening lap of the 125-lap Late Model Stock Car feature and never looked back.  The veteran driver survived a handful of restarts in a tame race to score the victory – his first of the 2020 season.
